Welcome to For the Glory, soldier! We are an intermediate roleplay about the anime/manga Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin). Our story begins soon after the battle for Trost, leaving our characters, worn, battered and distraught. The popular district is currently overrun with titans, leaving it useless for any sort of cause that could aid in humanity’s fight. Those in the military are currently trying to devise a plan to take back Trost, and an operation will be put into place - that is, as soon as they acquire enough warm bodies to do so. Until then, they are in the midst of a hiatus, training as many cadets as possible to help them in carrying out their plan. The fight against the tyrannous beasts that rule over this world is as ruthless and relentless as ever, and it is up to you, soldier, to decide where our story will turn. Will humanity be able to retake Trost, or will it forever be in the merciless grasp of the titans? The answer is up to you.

This was still a damn waste of time. Levi leaned against the giant stone wall, listening to the Titans on the other side. This certainly explained what the hell happened out on the expedition. Well, rather what didn't happen. It had been too quiet out there and now he knew why. It had been a rough thing getting back inside the wall with Titans infesting Trost district. Now they were left on the opposite side of the wall, waiting for orders on how to handle taking the district back. He crossed his arms, skulking in the shadows as he watched everyone else hurrying about.
He hated to stand around, but this time he had a purpose. He could deal with being idle if he had a reason for it. Sharp grey eyes darted from face to face. From what he heard, there was some brat from the training squad that had turned into a Titan. Impossible. There was no way a human could become one of those things. There was no way someone could do that and not be a monster. It could be useful though. There were rumors spreading about using this ... thing to help them. If the whispers were right, it hadn't gone after the rest of his squad which was very strange.
Still, this was dangerous and he didn't think that this kid could go to just anyone. So few people would have the balls to actually handle this situation. The short corporal gave a small frown. Hange was going to want to get her hands on the shifter. He gave a small sigh. He was going to have to put up with yet another obsession. Fantastic. He gave a huff of discontent but if Hange managed to get her way, as she usually did, he would be right beside her to make sure this monster got put down. He just had to make sure that happened.
So, Levi posted himself against the wall while he waited for Erwin. He was searching for anything out of place. For whatever reason this thing wasn't in chains. If no one else was going to care about this, he sure as hell would. They were putting so many lives in danger and that was utterly unacceptable. The problem was that he had no idea who he was looking for, just a name - Eren Yeager. Sure, he could go running around, looking for him, but that was hardly like him. He let his hands rest on the hilts of the swords, feeling the cool metal and knowing how quickly he could move. He knew he could use those blades faster than anyone else, have someone put down before they knew what happened. It was a comfort to know himself that well. It was a comfort to know that he felt no remorse in having those thoughts.
He was going to protect humanity as best he could, even if it was from itself. People were stupid, they needed to be kept safe from themselves when they made moronic choices like letting this shifter kid walk around as he pleased.
Eren had wondered if Levi had wanted to talked to him for the time moment. If anything he had been attacking the titans for the sake of the mankind. Right now he had been keeping out of sight since he didn't wanted to kill by military part or by Kitts. Eren had chose not to attack any humans since they are the ones he had wanted to protect. Even if he had to stay as a cadet, but he had still hoping join the scout regiment even if he had to be under heavy surveillance.
Eren had came by Levi in his human form. He had been thinking of how he had been able to be in the branch that he had wanted. This was something that he had to do he was just been careful not to attack any humans or transform into his titan form unless there was a reason to. He had just wanted to make sure that he had been wanting to talk to Levi Ackermann. This was just one of the reasons he had loved being a cadet. Eren had always wanted to be a scout regiment member as long as he could remembered.
For any case that he had figured that he had wanted to do. He had looked at him and he hadn't smiled. I don't know if Levi would wanted to talk to me, but I would like to get to know Levi even if that meant that I would have to try to get to know him. Eren thought. In his life he had saw that he had to figure out what he had wanted to do with his entire life. He had wanted to get revenged on the Titans for their work against humans and he had still believed that humans were cattle.
"Levi I would like to talk to you." Eren said. He just had been thinking of how this conversation would go. Eren hadn't known there was whispers about him turning into a Titan, but he had figured that most humans are fearing about that he would go out of control. In any case he had wished to talked to Levi no matter what it had takes. For him this was once in a lifetime that he could have known. Eren had been living his entire life just wanting to be a member of the Scouts ever since the first time he had saw the Scouts.
The dark haired soldier lowered his head as he waited, watching. The ebony curtain that fell forward left his eyes hidden so no one really knew what he was looking at. Anyone that did know him, though, would be keenly aware that every movement made around him was noted and carefully monitored even if he wasn't staring directly at someone. It seemed almost normal. There was a tension in the air as those around him hurried to and fro, carrying ammunition for cannons and all other manner of equipment. At least something was getting done.
Even the cadets, easily identified by the crossed swords on their jackets were finding ways of being useful. Well, some of them. He wondered how many were off huddled in corners and rocked to their very core with fear. Now they had seen true battle, those that they cared for carelessly devoured with the blood of their comrades splatting the stones of Trost. How many would drop out now?
Those still working were worth half a glance in consideration. Those few could be useful. Levi's attention was drawn to one cadet in particular, a very brave soul indeed. Or incredibly stupid. His vote was for the latter being that he addressed him so casually. Only those that were close to him dared to call him simply Levi. Even those under his direct command even addressed him as "captain" whether he liked it or not. This kid was disrespectful and full of himself already. As a captain in the Scout Regiment and a ranking officer in the military, it was Levi's duty to demand the respect his title earned him. He might hate his position of authority, but he would use it to its fullest extent.
What are you, a complete moron? How did you even get through training? You salute your superiors, shit for brains. You sure as hell don't get to address me by my first name. A dark, steely glare clouded his deep grey eyes, turning them nearly black. The look should scare someone so green behind the ears as this kid. If it weren't just the look, the tone in his voice staining every word clearly said "I will hurt you without a second thought" should have the boy before him shaking in his boots. He might not eat a man whole, but he could be just as scary as a Titan when he wanted to.
The strongest soldier in the military let his lip curl slightly in disgust. What's your name, cadet? I want to get you thrown out now before you can screw anything else up, The older man sneered, obviously showing his authority despite having to look slightly up at the taller teen. Sized never mattered to him. He cared nothing for the fact that most stood taller than him seeing as no one could hold a candle to his abilities. No matter what, he was usually better than everyone around him save for a very select few.
Eren was listening to Captain Ackermann and he was just forgot his training at that time. Eren had heard his question and he had decided to give him his name as well. There was just something that he had to admired this guy for. He had great respect for him, but right now he had been keeping to his human form for the most part. Since he was just a titan shifter and a human. This was the life that he had been given by his father to be the savior of mankind to fight against the Titans that threatens the humans.
Not a complete moron, sir." Eren said. Eren had did the salute that he was taught in training. He had just been on his toes ever since the Titans had attacked Trost and his fellow humans had found out that he was a Titan shifter. That was also something that he hadn't liked. He hadn't wanted anyone else getting hurt because of the Titans. He had been trying to figure out Captain Ackermann out for quite a while since he had gotten here. This world was messed up since the Titans were here at this time they had been eating humans.
"My name is Eren Yeager, sir." Eren said. He had been just been trying to figure out to answer every question that the Captain of Scout Regiment had. He hadn't thought that he would been feeling some kind of pain at this moment. He had wanted to be in the Scout Regiment for as long as he had could remembered. This world was cruel and he had known that since he was a child ever since that he had rescued Mikasa. He had been figuring that Mikasa was able to join any other regiments that she had wanted same went for Armin. Eren hadn't a place in the human world as a Titan shifter that he was. He was good fighting against the Titans and that's where his fighting abilities lies.
He had waited for the captain next move and he just had been wondering if he was truly was going to kicked out as a cadet. Then he hadn't been able to stayed with Mikasa or Armin for that matter. Eren had just wanted to be in the Scouts more than anything he had even fought against his mother for that. "Maybe I had messed up my chance to join in the Scout Regiments.[/color] Eren thought. He had wanted to stayed as a Cadet so that way he was able to join the Scouts when he was able to. Eren had no idea of what this guy was thinking and yet he had been an angry kid for quite a while. Titans he had still wanted his revenge on them since he hadn't thought that he was able to get that revenge against the Titans if he was going to be kicked out. This was going to be his goodbye to his friends if he was going to get kicked out.
Levi easily pushed himself off the wall, standing straight up yet looking completely at ease despite his rigid posture. He was ready to walk away now and report this insolent little brat to someone that would care about how disrespectful he was. Wouldn't it just grate so nicely on the nerves of every soldier that oversaw the cadets training? They had let a bad apple slip through the cracks and he wouldn't be opposed to them getting tossed out on their asses for it. They were meant to be hard on the little kids to weed guys like this out.
He rolled his eyes as the brunet before him retorted. You flatter yourself. Don't think you're smart at all. It'll save everyone trouble, He replied back. While it wasn't exactly his plan to always be a condescending jerk to everyone, it worked out for him. Those that were on the receiving end of his slights either backed the hell off and ran from him, or pushed themselves to try and strive for a good word from him. Now that would be a miracle. Levi couldn't recall the last time he gave any praise to those around him. If he had, it was something so unimportant that he didn't bother to remember. Hopefully the person that earned that moment of kindness had it memorized. It would never come again.
The elder soldier was about to take a step away as the teen gave his name. The stoic man froze, eyes going wide with surprise. Really? The very person he had been looking out for came right up to him? Sought him out even. This brazen little child who had most of the military scared out of their wits walked right up to him, spoke to him as if they were at least equals. In a moment, Levi was on Eren, hand reaching for the boy's throat. He needed him pinned and the wall would do just fine. He couldn't allow this kid to get away. But that shouldn't be a problem, right? This little twerp came looking for him.
So, you're the monster, He hissed, his voice a low growl as his eyes sparked. Every cell in his body sang out for blood. He should be putting Eren down, should have the knife he always carried at his neck. The only reason this boy was alive right now was that he understood his usefulness and Hange might just murder him for letting this opportunity slip away. Congratulations, you get to live, but know this. The moment you do one thing that endangers a human life, I will be there to cut you down. I don't care if you look like a normal kid, I will kill you.
Eren couldn't denied the fact that he was a monster. He was being choked Levi, but he didn't minded at this point since he had been wanting to prove himself to Captain Ackerman. He just hadn't thought mostly of the things and yet he was just been waiting for Captain Ackerman to get his hands off his throat. He was just living his life the best he could. He was just looking straight at him and he just didn't mind of being right here and he hadn't known what he could say to get Captain Ackerman off him at this time.
He was just been coughing and just nodded that he was the monster and to what he said after that. For any case he had wanted to make sure that he was just in this for the long haul. Who hadn't thought that he was a Titan shifter. I wold love to breathe for the while that I could actually breathe that I don't know how much longer he would be choking me for. I had been pinned here while he was choking me. Captain Ackerman could do what he had wanted since I'm fighting for them. Eren thought.
Eren was just looking at Captain and he had been wanting to say something to him. He hadn't thought that Captain Ackerman was just choking him at that this moment. "Captain Ackerman, sir, are you wanting to choke me because of a reason?" Eren asked. He had been an angry kid ever since he could remember. His entire life was different now since he had found out that he was a Titan shifter. This entire world was messed up and he had wanted to make sure that he was going to fight against those Titans to save the humankind.
"Captain, can you not choke me for whatever reason you might have. I wouldn't harm a human life that's for sure. I wasn't planning on hurting humans at all just the Titans. Can we have a normal conversation without the choking I need to breathe like a normal human as well. This might look different towards onlookers if they do come." Eren said. He had been talking with his heart and brain. He had followed his heart mostly when it came to fighting against the Titans to protect the humankind. Eren had been mostly keeping himself and he follows his heart.
Levi's stormy eyes narrowed at how nonchalant this ... thing was. He had walked up to him without a moment's hesitation, dared to address him to informally. Now, he dared ask why the captain had him shoved against a wall, hand at his throat? The audacity of this little brat. I'm choking you because I'm not afraid of a beast like you and you need to be put in your place, He hissed, voice low and threatening. He didn't care if anyone walked passed and stared. He didn't care if a ruckus started behind him. All his attention was on Eren and that was how it would stay seeing as he was the biggest threat.
The shorter male gave a sneer, easing his vice like grip on the boy's neck and shifting instead to ball the material of his shirt in his fist. The brunet was somewhat right, he did have to breath, but not because he was like a human. No, he needed to breath so Hange could get her hands on him. Normal conversation, Levi mocked, giving a derisive huff. Not only was that laughable due to who he was speaking to now, but the former criminal wasn't really good at those in the best of times. He didn't have proper people skills and his anger toward this tiny beast just made it all the more difficult.
He leaned closer, an expression on his face that would send grown men running for their lives. You really are in idiot, huh? Titans can't be trusted not to eat people; it's in your natural. Plus, a little snot like you thinking you can just walk up to me and we'll have a nice chat? Delusional. He didn't know how this Eren Yeager could still think himself capable of normal interactions after turning into a Titan, helpful as he had been or not. Levi didn't understand how someone could think that they would so easily fall back into typical interactions as if nothing happened. It was hard for him to believe that anyone, let alone a serious danger to humanity, would want to just walk up to him and start up a conversation as if nothing were happening.
It was surprising enough to the dark haired man that a few people actually did do just that and it simply flowed into a comfortable moment. Mostly. The few people that he supposed he could call friend had been working with him for long enough that they brushed off his prickly demeanor without a thought and handled him to the point that they seemed comfortable. He just did his best to keep from being too hostile. He hid everything but his anger when it was warranted, like now. He was furious that no one had this boy in chains, tethered to the floor in a hole in the ground. He was livid at the brazenness shown to him.
Levi was pissed that he knew he wouldn't be allowed to do everyone the favor of offing him right now. You have one chance to convince me you're worth listening to. Make it quick and make it fucking good before I drag you off to a cell myself, He growled. His attitude wasn't getting any better. He didn't want to listen, didn't want to give Eren the chance to calm the situation down. The shifter was damn lucky that he was a brilliant tactician and was able to weigh Eren's pros and cons so quickly and deemed the pros to outweigh the cons... for now.
Eren had been trying to understand Levi, but that would be a victory in itself if he does get to know Levi. He doesn't want to eat people, but he had guessed that's how people viewed him as. That was something that he hadn't known for quite a while. He was just thinking of what he could say to Levi without getting angry with this guy that was something that wasn't needed at the moment. In this moment he was just wanted to join the Scouts for so long that he wanted to explain that to Levi. He hadn't known if this captain would allowed to do so, but he had been living with the hope to do so for a long while.
"I wouldn't eat humans that's not in my nature to do so since I am human born human and mostly I am mostly like be around humans for the longest while. It's not like I knew I was a Titan Shifter, but yet i am human nonetheless. Maybe not a nice chat, but I do want to join the Scout Regiment that way it be beneficial and you could watch me to make sure that i don't eat humans." Eren said.
He was pouring his heart into saying his words correctly. He was still an angry kid, but that wouldn't stop him of talking as normal kid. Eren had wanted to join the Scouts for so long, but he had hoped that Captain of the Scouts Regiments would even let him. Even if that meant being watched day and night. "In my place and it's fine that you aren't afraid of me that's something that had be respected." Eren said. He was just showing emotions on his face, but yet he had known that Captain Ackerman was to be respected. He was just wanted to known what he was going to do if Captain Ackerman was going to say no. He had figured that he was going to join another regiment that was hopefully possible, but since he had turned into a Titan he had figured that wasn't going to be possible since he had scared Military Police. He just looked at Captain Ackerman and sighed.
He was just wanting to know there was a possible that he was able to join the Scout Regiments even a small chance that he was able to. That would be great if he was able to. Eren hadn't stopped looking at Captain. He was just been wanting to know what he was thinking at this moment. This was a big tension encounter with him and maybe I had went about this the wrong way. I had wondered what about I could if he had said no. I am only a cadet that would have to decide a regiment soon and I had no idea what regiment to join since most of the regiments big military police are scared enough to stayed out my way. I hadn't known, which regiments would let him join among their ranks. Eren thought.
He had been staying put and he had wanted to hear what Captain Ackerman was going to say to him. Eren had wanted to talked to him and he had been capable of talking to him even if it meant one-sided talking. Eren was capable of living his life as a human since he was born as a human first and became a Titan much later on when he was still a little boy. He hadn't turned into a Titan not until he was fifteen.
At this point, Levi was certain - Eren Yeager was more than likely a liability rather than an asset. Did he not understand that no one knew what the hell he was? Did he even really understand what he was? He had just changed into a Titan and one round of that was not proof that he wouldn't eat humans. If he had learned anything from his years with Hange, it was that there needed to be multiple tests of the same thing to get a proper scale of how likely something was. They had learned a few things about titans and yet there was still more. One thing was certain - the scientist would need to do extensive studying on what this kid was.
To ensure that the delusions the kid had right now became reality, someone needed to make sure he learned how to better harness this power of his if they didn't decide to just put him out of everyone's misery now. The captain gave a scoff at the cadet, letting the fabric of the teen's shirt go. He wasn't letting up though. His foot swept forward, aiming to kick Eren's legs out from under him and send him to the ground. He didn't care for his boy and he wasn't adverse to making sure he knew it. There was no reason for him to play nice.
In fact, short as he was, he wanted to make sure in a much more physical way that his stature didn't make him any less of a threat. Sure, stories did just fine in making people think he was unstoppable, but him giving a hard lesson just helped solidify in everyone's mind exactly what he was capable of. You? A Scout? You don't even know what you are, dumbass. What makes you think you could handle the Scout Regiment? Levi asked, the slightest of frowns pulling at his lips. That small expression could speak more words than someone else screaming and ranting about the same thing. Any of his team would have seen that expression and gone scrambling to figure out what was wrong and fix it immediately. Eren didn't know any better. Depending on the decision of their "superiors", the brunet before him would find out just what that expression meant.
