Sunlight is nothing but a distant dream for these poor souls that are shunned into the musty confines of the Underground. This hellish place is located directly below wall Sina, as it was designed to be a place where those of higher power could retreat if the titans were ever to infiltrate the interior. It was left unfinished, however, and the poor, sick and "unappealing" were cast away in the dark crevices they are forced to call home. People here are cursed with a multitude of health problems, simply because the majority of them won't ever see a hint of sunshine in the entirety of their lives. There is a stairwell that leads up into the heart of wall Sina, but there is a hefty toll that must be paid to pass through, so it can only be expected that this is more of a one-way street.

Death and destruction is the probably outcome of anyone that is brave enough to come out into the surrounding titan territory. Without a horse, one is virtually doomed due to the vast, flat terrain. To reach the territory of the titans, one would have to pass through the confines of Wall Maria, which has become eerily similar to the outside world. Those in the Scouts are usually the only humans brave enough to venture out into these unforgiving lands in an attempt to gain knowledge about mankind's greatest enemy.
